Nicholas Harry Aldis was born on November 6, 1986, in Docking, Norfolk, England. Before his professional wrestling career, he was proficient in swimming and tennis, subsequently engaging in bodybuilding. Aldis made his professional debut in British independent wrestling on December 17, 2004. He gained broader recognition in 2008 by appearing in the revival of “Gladiators” as Oblivion. That same year, Aldis signed with Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA), debuting as Brutus Magnus. During his tenure with TNA, he became the first British-born TNA World Heavyweight Champion and held the TNA World Tag Team Championship twice, aligning with The British Invasion and later with Samoa Joe. His career continued to evolve with a stint in Pro Wrestling Noah in 2012, where he won the GHC Tag Team Championship alongside Samoa Joe.
Aldis moved to Global Force Wrestling (GFW) in 2015, where he made history as the inaugural GFW Global Champion and held the title for the longest duration.
