Nick Hayes was born on December 21, 1985, in Dorset, UK. He began his professional acting career at a young age, with his first theatre job at seven years old in a production of Peter Pan with Matthew Kelly. He later received training at Laine Theatre Arts and with the London Academy of Music & Dramatic Art. His West End debut occurred in 2005 at the age of eighteen in “Saturday Night Fever” at the Apollo Victoria Theatre. This early exposure to both theatre and formal training laid the foundation for a career spanning diverse roles.

Hayes transitioned into television work in 2005, taking on a series regular role as Orson Buxton in the teen drama “Hollyoaks: In the City.” He subsequently appeared as Tom Portman in the BBC medical drama “Doctors.” In 2015, Hayes received the Best Actor Award at the Kino ’61 Film awards in Manchester for his role as Man 1 in the short film “The Definition of Lonely.” This film has since garnered over half a million views on YouTube. His stage career continued to advance with roles in major West End musicals such as “Footloose,” “Legally Blonde,” and “Rent.” He also embarked on international tours with “Mamma Mia!” and a U.S. National Tour with “Gobsmacked!”.

Hayes’ career progression includes notable performances that showcase his range. He played Adam/Felicia in the UK and Ireland tour of “Priscilla Queen of the Desert” from 2020 to 2022. Other significant theatre credits include Ralph in “Groundhog Day” at The Old Vic and Julius in “Remembrance Monday” at Seven Dials Playhouse. Beyond performing, Nick Hayes also lectures and directs at various universities and performing arts institutions across the UK.
