Nido Qubein is a businessman and motivational speaker, the founder of the National Speaker Foundation, and the president of High Point University. He has been inducted into the Horatio Alger Association of Distinguished Americans, and has been awarded with the Ellis Island Medal of Honor, the Order of the Long Leaf Pine and the DAR Americanism Medal.
Qubein came to the US as a teenager with limited English and just $50 to his name. He has since built an extraordinary business career, earned a reputation as one of the country’s most respected university presidents, and has inspired millions with his fulfilment of the American Dream. He is the founder and former chairman of the National Speaker Association (NSA), and has served as chairman of the Great Harvest Bread Company. He serves on the boards of healthcare technology company nThrive, Fortune 500 company BB&T, furniture brand the La-Z-Boy Corporation, and fashion chain Dots Stores. In 2005, he was appointed the seventh President of High Point University in North Carolina. During his transformational tenure the college has tripled its faculty and undergraduate class size and established four additional academic schools.
Today, Qubein is a celebrated speaker, consultant and writer. He is the author of 11 books, including Stairway to Success: The Complete Blueprint for Personal and Professional Achievement, How To Get Anything You Want, and How To Be a Great Communicator. He undertakes a busy schedule of speaking engagements, has been inducted into the International Speaker Hall of Fame, and is the recipient of the Golden Gavel Medal.
