The passionate Oliver Pineda is a professional dancer, musician, coach and mentor, and is regarded as one of the Top 10 male Salsa dancers in the world. He is the 10x World Salsa Champion, and the founder of the Latin Motion Dance Academy. He is also a black belt in Tae Kwon Do and has competed in many martial arts tournaments across Australia.
Born and raised in Sydney, Australia, Pineda grew up with a love of music, in particular Salsa, and started dancing when he was 10-years-old. When he was 16 he was a percussionist/musician (specialising in Timbales, Congas, Bongo and Campana) with a nightclub group called the Alma Latina Band, and was with another nightclub group, the Caliente La Banda Band, when he was 18. He undertook technical dance and competitive training within the Latin Dance Sport and Ballroom arena, and since then has become a Latin American Ballroom Champion ten times over in Australia, as well as being placed in the Top 98 out of 600 couples in the under 21 youth division at the prestigious Blackpool Championship in England. He won five of his World Salsa Championship titles with his former partner and 3x winner of Dancing with the Stars, Luda Kroitor.
Pineda regularly connects with his legions of followers and fans through Instagram, and Facebook, posting pictures and videos of his life around dance. He also has a dedicated YouTube channel, Oliver Pineda Dance, and an official website, oliverpineda.dance.
