United States Parmalee has consistently delivered chart-topping country music, securing five number-one hits and over 1.6 billion streams, establishing themselves as a significant presence in the country music industry.
Parmalee is signed to the Stoney Creek division of BBR Music Group, under which they have released multiple albums and singles, including several chart-topping hits.
Parmalee collaborated with trap artist Blanco Brown on the single 'Just the Way,' which became a number-one hit for both artists. They also performed together on NBC's TODAY and FOX & Friends All American Summer Concert Series.
Nikki Sixx, bassist of Mötley Crüe, collaborated with Parmalee on several tracks during their 2006 recording sessions, contributing both writing and production.
Producer David Bendeth, who invited Parmalee to record, drew attention from RCA as part of their early career development.
Following initial recordings with David Bendeth, Parmalee secured a publishing deal with Los Angeles-based Windswept Publishing.
While in Nashville, Parmalee met David Fanning from New Voice Entertainment, leading to the recording of their hit 'Musta Had a Good Time.'
Parmalee, an American country music band, originated in Parmele, North Carolina. The band is composed of brothers Matt Thomas (lead vocals, guitar) and Scott Thomas (drums), their cousin Barry Knox (bass), and Josh McSwain (guitar). Before forming Parmalee, Matt and Scott Thomas performed with their father in a group called Jerry Thomas and the Thomas Brothers Band. Following their father’s retirement, they continued their musical endeavors, forming Parmalee. Their early work included an EP titled “Daylight.” They subsequently gained the attention of producer David Bendeth, which led to a publishing deal with Windswept Publishing and the recording of their full-length debut album, “Inside.” The band spent two years touring and promoting this album.
Parmalee continued its career by releasing a live acoustic album, “Unplugged,” and a documentary DVD, “Inside Live.” In 2006, they began recording with producer Stevo Bruno in Los Angeles, collaborating with Nikki Sixx on several tracks. They later worked with producer Kevin Beamish in Nashville. The band released the EP “Complicated” in 2008. A significant event occurred in 2010 when drummer Scott Thomas was critically wounded during an attempted robbery after a performance in Rock Hill, South Carolina. He endured a 35-day hospitalization, including ten days in a coma, before recovering. This incident marked a turning point, influencing the band’s career trajectory.
After signing with Stoney Creek Records, a division of BBR Music Group, Parmalee achieved considerable success. Their single “Carolina” reached number one on the Billboard Country Airplay chart in December 2013, followed by three more number-one singles: “Just the Way” (featuring Blanco Brown), “Take My Name,” and “Gonna Love You.” Their albums “Feels Like Carolina” (2013), “27861” (2017), and “For You” (2021) further solidified their position in country music. In 2023, they re-issued “For You” as “For You 2,” which included new singles “Girl in Mine” and “Gonna Love You.” Their eighth overall album, “Fell in Love with a Cowgirl,” was released on April 4, 2025.
