Pascal Wehrlein is a German and Mauritian racing driver currently competing in Formula E for the TAG Heuer Porsche Formula E Team. Known for his impressive versatility and talent, Wehrlein previously raced in Formula One for Sauber and Manor. He has made a name for himself not only in single-seater racing but also in touring car championships, holding dual nationality and racing under the German flag in Formula One.
Wehrlein’s career took off in the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters (DTM), where he achieved remarkable milestones. In 2013, he became the youngest driver to start a DTM race at just 18 years old. By 2015, he had won the championship with the Mercedes-Benz team HWA AG, becoming the youngest driver to secure both a pole position and a race victory, and subsequently the youngest champion at 20. His rapid ascent in motorsport showcased his potential as a future star.
In February 2016, Wehrlein transitioned to Formula One with Manor, where he scored the team’s only championship point at the Austrian Grand Prix. After a challenging 2017 season with Sauber, which saw him recover from a serious back injury, he became the team’s points scorer but was ultimately replaced for the following season.
After a brief return to DTM and serving as a development driver for Ferrari, Wehrlein made his way to Formula E, initially with Mahindra Racing and later joining Porsche. In a crowning achievement, he won the 2023–24 Formula E World Championship at the season’s final round in London, solidifying his status as a leading figure in electric racing.
