The wonderfully entertaining Pat Sharp is an award-winning radio and TV presenter and DeeJay, best known for his extensive radio career, which began on the BBC’s Radio 1 in 1982, and for time hosting ITV’s children’s game show, Fun House. His acclaimed autobiography, Re-Run the Fun: My Life as Pat Sharp, was published in 2020.
Born and raised in Stanmore, Sharp started work as a radio presenter for the BBC’s Radio 1 in 1982 as holiday cover, as well as getting to host the early Sunday morning slot. Following a year on-air, he then moved to Capital FM to host mid-mornings for a decade. Along the way he picked up a gold Sony award, as well as notching up seven hit singles and raising over £300,000 for charity as part of the infamous Stock Aitken Waterman duo, Pat & Mick. Between 1997 and 2004 he presented the mid-morning show at Heart London. He then worked at Century FM, before joining Smooth Radio in 2010 to host their Weekend Breakfast show. In January 2013 he became the station’s weekday afternoon presenter. On New Year’s Eve 2013 he joined the Breeze network. In 2019 he began presenting a show on Greatest Hits Radio, as well as for Norway’s national retro station P 8 Pop.
Sharp’s TV career has proven to be just as prolific, and aside from hosting the BBC1’s Top of the Pops many times over the years, he presented the kids’ show Fun House for a decade. He has also presented or featured as a guest on such programmes as What’s Up Doc?, 10 Sharp, The Weakest Link, The Games, Celebrity Come Dine With Me, Never Mind The Buzzcocks, and I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! He has hosted live shows and events across the globe, and has voiced many commercials, too.
With almost four decades of live TV, radio and hosting experience, Sharp still attracts more and more new fans, both old and young alike, and regularly connects through Instagram and Twitter. He also has an official website, patsharp.co.uk.
