Patrick Muldoon is an American actor and film producer with more than 30 years of screen experience. He is perhaps best known for his roles in the 1990s — as Zander Barcalow in Starship Troopers and Austin Reed in Days of Our Lives (a role he reprised in the 2010s). But he remains a highly prolific actor today, with recent roles included parts in movies such as Vanquish, Marlowe, and Deadlock. He has also produced many films since 2015, including The Comeback Trail and Badge of Honor.
Muldoon was born in California in September 1968. His acting career began at the dawn of the 1990s with recurring roles in shows such as Saved by the Bell. In 1992, he began playing Austin Reed in the long-running soap opera Days of Our Lives. He won the 1994 Soap Opera Digest Award for Outstanding Male Newcomer and would go on to play Reed in well over 500 episodes of the show between 1992 and 2012. He also had another prominent soap role, playing Richard Hart in one of the final series of Melrose Place in the mid-1990s.
In 1997, Muldoon played Johnny Rico’s rival Zander in Starship Troopers, a movie that was misunderstood on first release but which is now regarded as an all-time classic. In recent years, he has focused more and more on movie acting and production and helped to win an Ensemble Award at the 2017 Northeast Film Festival for the movie American Satan.
