Patrick Muldoon

William Patrick Muldoon III was born on September 27, 1968, in San Pedro, California. His upbringing was influenced by his parents’ artistic backgrounds in painting, writing, and music, which sparked his own interests alongside athletics. Muldoon played college football for the U.S.C. Trojans and has two Rose Bowl rings. His initial entry into the entertainment industry was as a model for Calvin Klein, starting with the esteemed Wilhelmina Modeling agency. Early acting roles included appearances on “Who’s the Boss?” and “Silk Stalkings” before he secured the role of Austin Reed on “Days of Our Lives,” where he spent three years.

Muldoon’s career gained significant momentum when he won a Soap Opera Digest award for best new actor. Following his success on “Days of Our Lives,” he attracted the attention of Spelling Entertainment, leading to a unique development deal—the only one of its kind in the company’s history. This opportunity resulted in a season on “Melrose Place.” A major turning point came with his casting as Zander Barkalow in Paul Verhoeven’s 1997 film “Starship Troopers” alongside Casper Van Dien. He also appeared in independent films such as “Wicked” with Julia Stiles and “Black Cat Run” for Frank Darabont. In 2011, Muldoon returned to “Days of Our Lives” for another year, further cementing his connection to the soap opera world.

Beyond acting, Muldoon expanded into production, notably producing and starring in “Badge of Honor” alongside Martin Sheen and Mena Suvari. In 2019, he produced and starred in “Arkansas,” featuring Vince Vaughn, John Malkovich, and Liam Hemsworth, directed by Clark Duke. The same year, he produced and starred in “The Comeback Trail,” with Robert De Niro, Tommy Lee Jones, and Morgan Freeman, directed by George Gallo. Both films were released in 2020. Muldoon is also a singer/songwriter, releasing an EP “Muldoon and Ives” in 2019, available on streaming platforms. He is additionally a blue belt in Krav Maga and a martial arts enthusiast.
