Paul Anderson

Paul Anderson embarked on his acting career in the mid-2000s, initially performing in plays written by his friend Gregory Burke. Prior to this, he had worked as a ticket scalper and pursued aspirations in music. His screen debut came with Burke’s film “’71” in 2014, and he earned his first leading film role in the 2009 British movie “The Firm.” His early career also included a notable part as Colonel Sebastian Moran in “Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows” in 2011.

A significant turning point in Anderson’s career occurred in 2013 when he was cast as Arthur Shelby, a main character in the BBC Two series “Peaky Blinders.” This role, which he held from 2013 to 2022 across 36 episodes, brought him widespread recognition. Following his success in television, Anderson appeared in several major film productions. These include Ron Howard’s “In the Heart of the Sea” (2015), “The Revenant” (2015), where he played the character Anderson, and “Legend” (2015), in which he portrayed Albert Donoghue. He further expanded his filmography with roles in “Brimstone” (2016), “24 Hours to Live” (2017), “Hostiles” (2017), and “Robin Hood” (2018).

More recently, Anderson has continued to take on diverse roles, including “Nightmare Alley” (2021) and the 2024 film “Lift.” He also ventured into voice acting, lending his voice to Prince Louis in “The Prince” (2021) and Arthur Shelby in the “Peaky Blinders: The King’s Ransom” video game (2022). His upcoming projects include “The Gray House,” where he plays Stokely Reeves, set for release in 2024 with 7 episodes planned, and “Irena’s Children” and “Fortitude,” which are currently in pre-production and filming stages, respectively. In February 2024, he also appeared in a promotional trailer for the Tyson Fury vs. Oleksandr Usyk boxing match.
