Spanish actor Pedro Alonso is known to audiences internationally for his starring roles in series including Money Heist and Diablo Guardian. In recognition of his critically acclaimed performances, he has been nominated for three Mestre Mateo Awards, was nominated for Golden Nymph at the Monte Carlo Television Festival, and won a Spanish Actors Union Award for his work on Money Heist.
Alonso studied at the Theatre of Dance and the Royal School of Dramatic Arts (RESAD) in Madrid. He went on to gain early parts in shows including At Eleven at Home (A las Once en Casa), All Men Are Equal (Todos los Hombres Sois Iguales), and Fire Code (Código Fuego), and later became known for playing leading roles on Galician series including Rías Baixas, Maridos e Mulleres and Padre Casares. In 2017, Alonso reached a global audience when he began starring in the Antena 3 hit series Money Heist (La Casa de Papel). The show was an immediate success in Spain, and was quickly acquired by Netflix where it was broadcast worldwide. He has since co-starred in Diablo Guardian, the first Amazon Prime drama series created for a Mexican audience.
On the big screen, Alonso’s many credits have included El Calentito, Insomnio, La Noche del Hermano, and 18 Comidas. In 2019 he starred as Q in thriller The Silence of the Swamp (El Silencio del Pantano), and he previously appeared in Gerardo Herrero’s mystery The Beach of the Drowned (La Playa de los Ahagados). On stage, he has worked with companies including La Dura dels Baus and Teatro Clásico Nacional, and has starred in plays including O Crédito, Por Amor al Arte, and Albert Camus’ The Just (Los Justos) with Madrid’s 611 Teatro.
