Timothy Paul Jasper “PJ” McKay, born in 1986, and Thomas McKay (née Hamon), born in 1991, are an American couple from Cleveland, Tennessee, who have built a media franchise around their lives and work. PJ, a Cleveland native, pursued modeling and acting, appearing as a background actor on shows like “The Vampire Diaries” and “Teen Wolf,” before becoming a real estate agent. Thomas, also from Cleveland, joined PJ in their combined venture. They married in October 2015, after mutually proposing to each other in 2014 and 2015, respectively.
In 2015, they launched their YouTube channel “PJ and Thomas (The Property Lovers),” documenting the renovation of their 1950s house and various DIY projects. This online presence expanded to include diverse content spanning lifestyle, health and fitness, tourism, fashion, decorating, and discussions on subjects such as homosexuality in society, LGBT adoption, and parenting. Their authentic approach on social media led them to become full-time influencers and television personalities. In 2017, they made history as the first openly homosexual couple to host an HGTV show, “Down to the Studs,” showcasing their house-flipping and interior design expertise.
Beyond their media careers, PJ and Thomas are active in real estate development and investments, and they market their own merchandise. They are also advocates for various charitable causes, contributing to HIV/AIDS activism, promoting gay rights, and supporting refugee advocacy. In 2019, they became foster parents, and in 2021, they legally adopted their three foster children, further sharing their personal journey with their audience.
