Jeanté Godlock is a celebrated actor, known best for her lead role as Simone Biles in The Simone Biles Story: Courage to Soar, which won two Leo awards – one for best direction, as well Godlock being nominated for an Image Award for being an Outstanding Actress. Based on the four time Olympic gold-winning gymnast’s journey from adoption, to training, to dealing with life with ADHD – Godlock portrayed the tremendously strong character with conviction and finesse, and is still regularly in contact with the real Simone Biles, who was so fond of Godlocks captivating performance they regularly refer to each other as twins.
Godlock has also starred in the short film Sell Out!, where a black comedian who makes derogatory jokes around black people finds out that his conscious is more than just a voice in his head. Sell Out! saw Godlock star alongside Ayinde Howell, who has been involved in such classics as Brooklyn Nine Nine and Dear White People. One of Godlocks most recent projects is starring as Mona Lisa on Netflix’s comedy show Daybreak, which explores a post-apocalyptic Glendale, and has won multiple awards for its tenacity and sardonic wit.
Godlock is also a dedicated foodie, exploring her travels finding the hottest food restaurants on her Instagram to over 42 thousand followers, as well as being a resident fitness influencer. The actor is also heavily involved in social activism.
