Jeante Godlock

Jeante Godlock was born in Los Angeles, California, in the United States. Her career began with appearances in short films, which laid the groundwork for her transition into more prominent roles. A significant early milestone came in 2018 when she was cast as artistic gymnast Simone Biles in the biographical made-for-television movie “The Simone Biles Story: Courage to Soar” for Lifetime. Her portrayal earned her a nomination for Outstanding Actress in a Television Movie, Mini-Series, or Dramatic Special at the 50th NAACP Image Awards, recognizing her performance in a leading role.

Following this, Godlock secured a main role in “Daybreak,” a Netflix post-apocalyptic comedy-drama series in 2019, appearing in all 10 episodes as Mona Lisa. This role further expanded her visibility and demonstrated her capability in a series regular capacity. Although “Daybreak” concluded after one season, Godlock continued to build her portfolio with guest-starring roles on established television series such as “9-1-1: Lone Star” in 2021 and “Black-ish” in 2022. Her work in these shows showcased her ability to adapt to different narrative styles and genres.

In more recent years, Godlock has continued to secure roles in both television and film. In 2023, she appeared in the Lifetime thriller film “You’re Not Supposed to Be Here” as Kaylee. Looking ahead, she was cast as Vera Scott in the war drama film “The Six Triple Eight,” directed by Tyler Perry, set for release in 2024. This project includes an ensemble cast and has garnered a nomination for Outstanding Ensemble Cast in a Motion Picture at the 56th NAACP Image Awards, indicating her ongoing involvement in significant productions.
