Pornpawee Chochuwong

Pornpawee Chochuwong was born on January 22, 1998, in Rayong, Thailand. She began playing badminton in 2003 with her parents. Her professional career began in 2004, and she made her international debut at the Vietnam International Challenge in 2013. Early in her career, she achieved success in junior competitions, notably earning a silver medal in girls’ singles at the 2015 Asian Junior Championships and again at the 2016 BWF World Junior Championships. These early achievements established her as a promising talent in the sport.

Chochuwong’s career progression saw her transition to the senior international circuit, where she built a reputation as a competitive singles player. She became a multiple SEA Games gold medalist with the Thai women’s team in 2017, 2019, and 2021, also securing an individual gold medal in women’s singles at the 2021 SEA Games. A significant milestone occurred in 2020 when she won her first BWF World Tour title at the Spain Masters, defeating Olympic champion Carolina Marín in the final. This victory was followed by reaching the finals of the prestigious All England Open in 2021 and making her debut in the BWF World Rankings Top 10 in March 2021. She further secured Super 300 and Super 500 titles at the 2023 Swiss Open and 2025 Thailand Masters, respectively, demonstrating her continued presence at a high level of competition.

Throughout her career, Chochuwong has maintained a strong presence in various BWF World Tour events, reaching numerous finals and semi-finals. Her consistent performance has solidified her position among the top women’s singles players globally, with her career earnings reflecting her sustained success and dedication to the sport.
