Porsche Thomas is a writer, vegan chef, and social media influencer who used to be a model. She was born in Brooklyn, New York, to a Trinidadian mother and a Jamaican father. Her father, Peter Thomas of the “Real Housewives of Atlanta,” is famed for being a reality TV show villain. Porsche began her career in marketing at VH1 and was able to establish ties in the entertainment sector, which she utilized as a springboard when she relocated from New York City to Los Angeles in 2008. She worked as a model and actress during the day and wrote and performed stand-up comedy at night for the next few years. Thomas eventually turned a pastime into a career, shifting her focus to vegan soul food and landing the position of Russell Simmons’ personal chef.
This journey led her to discover her enthusiasm for spreading the word about the viability of a vegan diet to urban residents who were doubtful about their ability to stick to it. Thomas is feeling more creative, focused, and self-empowered than ever as a single mom to twin boys August and Berlin, who are also in showbiz as they share the part of baby Devante on the hit program Black-ish. On Cleo TV, she co-hosted the cookery show “New Soul Kitchen.” Thomas has her own vegan cookbook that she self-published, as well as an online vegan course that she established to help consumers embark on a sustainable, fun, and supported vegan path.
