About

Abdul Razak Alhassan was born on August 11, 1985, in Accra, Ghana. He began training in Judo at an early age, dedicating 22 years to the discipline and earning a black belt. Transitioning to mixed martial arts, Alhassan made his professional debut in 2013, securing a TKO victory in just 25 seconds. His early career saw him compile an undefeated record of 6-0 before he was signed by the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).

Alhassan’s UFC debut came on November 19, 2016, at UFC Fight Night: Mousasi vs. Hall 2, where he defeated Charlie Ward by knockout in 53 seconds, earning a ‘Performance of the Night’ bonus. He continued to compete in the welterweight and middleweight divisions, facing various opponents. Notable victories include two knockout wins against Sabah Homasi at UFC 218 (2017) and UFC 220 (2018), with the second earning him another ‘Performance of the Night’ bonus. In 2018, he knocked out Niko Price in 43 seconds at UFC 228. His striking prowess was further highlighted with a 17-second knockout of Alessio Di Chirico in 2021, which also secured a ‘Performance of the Night’ bonus.

Throughout his career, Alhassan has demonstrated a potent striking heavy style, with all of his victories coming by way of knockout. He has moved between welterweight and middleweight divisions, showcasing his adaptability.
