Remi Bader began her journey as a content creator in September 2020, shortly after being laid off from her job in the music industry. Encouraged by her father, who worked in women’s fashion, she briefly pursued curve modeling. During this period, she noticed a gap in online representation, where other curvy influencers primarily showcased clothing that fit perfectly. Bader, who described herself as a curvier individual from a young age (size 10-12), decided to create content that authentically reflected the challenges and realities of trying on clothes.
Her authentic approach involved sharing try-on hauls where she humorously showcased how various clothing items fit her body, including pieces that did not look ideal. One such video, featuring clothes from brands like Nasty Gal or Pretty Little Thing, went viral on TikTok. This unexpected success marked a turning point, leading her to become a full-time TikTok creator by March 2021. Bader quickly amassed a significant following, reaching 2.5 million followers across TikTok and Instagram, recognized for her candid critiques of size discrepancies within major fashion lines.
Since her rise to prominence, Bader has leveraged her platform to advocate for size inclusivity in fashion. She has secured various collaborations and partnerships, including launching a collection with Revolve and working with major brands such as Victoria’s Secret, Walmart, and L’Oreal. Her work has been acknowledged by Forbes, where she was ranked No. 48 on the inaugural Forbes Top Creators List in 2022 and included in the 30 Under 30 – Social Media list for 2023.
