In early 2020, The Walls Group, featuring Rhea Walls, announced their signing to Warryn Campbell's 'My Block' record label. This partnership led to the release of their album 'Four Walls' in 2023, furthering their discography under a new label.
Rhea Walls was born on September 19, 1995, in Houston, Texas. She is one of four siblings who together form The Walls Group, an urban contemporary gospel quartet. The group, consisting of Darrel, Rhea, Alic (Paco), and Ahjah Walls, was established in 2009. Their early career saw the release of their self-titled album, “The Walls Group” in 2012, which charted on the Billboard Top Gospel Albums at No. 29. This achievement brought them to the attention of gospel artist Kirk Franklin, who subsequently signed them to Fo Yo Soul Recordings in association with RCA Records.
Under their new label, The Walls Group released their debut studio album, “Fast Forward,” on September 2, 2014. This album marked a significant turning point, reaching No. 39 on the Billboard 200 chart and achieving the No. 1 position on the Top Gospel Albums chart. The album was critically acclaimed, receiving four-star reviews from AllMusic and New Release Tuesday. In recognition of their musical contributions, the group received a Grammy nomination for Best Gospel Performance/Song for “Love on the Radio” at the 57th Annual Grammy Awards. They also garnered multiple nominations at the 30th Stellar Awards, including Artist of the Year and Group/Duo of the Year. In 2017, they released their album “The Other Side,” which peaked at No. 6 on the Top Gospel Albums chart. The Walls Group transitioned to Warryn Campbell’s “My Block” record label in early 2020, and released “Four Walls” in 2023, reaching No. 12 on the Top Gospel Albums chart.
While continuing to work with The Walls Group, Rhea Walls has maintained her role as the soprano in the quartet.
