Rhonda Shear has enjoyed a remarkable 50-year career as a television host, entrepreneur, actor, model, and beauty queen. She is best known to television audiences for hosting cult late-night show USA Up All Night, which aired on Friday and Saturday nights during the 1990s and mixed B movies with comedy sketches. In 2001, she embarked on a new career as an entrepreneur, launching her clothing line, Rhonda Shear Intimates. The brand is now a multi-million-dollar company, particularly due to the success of its Ahh Bra, which has sold in the tens of millions worldwide.
Shear first entered the public eye in the 1970s when she became Miss Louisiana USA 1975. She was also named Miss Louisiana in the Miss World and Miss International competitions. She moved to Los Angeles in the late 1970s to pursue a career in acting and appeared in episodes of some of the 1980s most iconic shows, including The A-Team, Cheers, The Dukes of Hazzard, Dallas, Three’s Company, and CHiPS. In 1991, she became the host of USA Up All Night on the USA Network, a show that broadcast from 1am until 5am at weekends and so became a huge cult hit with student and alternative audiences.
USA Up All Night ended in 1998, and Shear embarked on her fashion career, forming Shear Enterprises with her husband. Since then, her brand has gone from strength to strength, more than proving her strong business acumen. She has used her success to give back, sponsoring charity events and regularly donating her brand’s products to women’s shelters across America.
