Özge Gürel was born on February 5, 1987, in Istanbul, Turkey. She lived in Silivri until completing high school. Her background includes Circassian descent from her father’s side and Turkish immigrant heritage from Thessaloniki on her mother’s side. Gürel initially pursued studies in International Trade at Beykent University but subsequently engaged in acting and acting management lessons. Her professional acting career commenced with the portrayal of Zeynep in the series “Kızım Nerede?” in 2010. She gained broader recognition in 2014 as the lead actress in “Cherry Season.”
“Cherry Season” achieved international broadcast between 2016 and 2017 on Canale 5 in Italy, notably becoming the first Turkish TV series to be shown on Italian television. Following this, Gürel continued in lead roles, including Haziran in “Yıldızlar Şahidim” in 2017. Later that same year, she played Nazlı Pinar Aslan in “Full Moon,” opposite Can Yaman. Her collaboration with Can Yaman extended to “Mr. Wrong” in 2020, where she took on the role of Ezgi İnal. This series was produced by Gold Film and directed by Deniz Yorulmazer, with a script by Aslı Zengin and Banu Zengin Tak, airing on FOX between June and October 2020.
Throughout her career, Gürel has accumulated a filmography that includes notable projects such as “Organic Love Stories” (2017), “First Kiss” (2017), “Wolf” (2018), and “Annem” (2019). Her recent work includes “Hayaller ve Hayatlar” (2022) as Dicle Aydın, “Sipahi” (2022-2023) as Canan Doğan, “Savrulan Zaman” (2024) as Nur, and the upcoming web series “Siyah Bere” (2025) as Nilgün Esen. She married her long-term partner Serkan Çayoğlu in July 2022 in Germany.
