Ria Demiri

Originally from Struga, northern Macedonia, Demiri moved to the United States at the age of two. At 17, she was compelled into a marriage with a boy she had known for a very short period, despite her own understanding that she was attracted to women. More than ten years later, Demiri publicly identified as gay, driven by a desire to teach her two-year-old daughter to live without concealment. This turning point significantly informed her professional engagements and personal advocacy.

She founded Ria Demiri, LLC in June 2020, focusing on public speaking and advocacy.
