Rick Thorne is an actor, producer and sports personality who is best known for his role in the beloved comedy feature film Paul Blart: Mall Cop, which saw Kevin James rise to fame as the charismatically chaotic Paul Blart. Before starring in Mall Cop, Thorne was a regular on video games such as Mat Hoffman’s Pro BMX series and legendary Tony Hawks video game: Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 4. Alongside his successful acting roles, Thorne is also known for being a celebrated BMX and skateboard sportsman, commentating on various global competitions and networking with some of the most prominent names in the industry including Tony Hawk.
Thorne’s filmography besides Paul Blart: Mall Cop includes comedy hit White T, written and directed by Lance Frank, whilst Thorne’s production credits include the TV short Cash or Crash – surrounding the dangerous life of those in action sport. Thorne has also starred as himself in countless documentaries exploring the world of action sport, due to his sporting experience, including but not limited to: 30 for 30, MTV Sports and Music Festival, xXx: A Filmmakers Diary and Marked Up – which does not explore Thorne’s sporting experience but rather another talented area of his: the art of tattoos, which he is well known for. Thorne is also known for his kind and considerate personality, at odds with the traditional view of action sports personalities.
