About

Robbie Amell was born Robert Patrick Amell IV in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, on April 21, 1988. He began his professional acting journey at the age of six, appearing in commercials alongside his sister. His early exposure to the entertainment industry continued through his teenage years, where he took on theater roles at Lawrence Park Stage in productions such as “Louis and Dave,” “Picasso at the Lapin Agile,” and “The Importance of Being Earnest.” This experience solidified his decision to pursue acting as a career. Amell’s first significant film role came shortly after, playing Daniel Murtaugh in the 2005 movie “Cheaper by the Dozen 2,” an experience that involved working with established actors like Steve Martin and Eugene Levy.

Throughout his career, Amell has consistently appeared in a variety of projects, demonstrating versatility. He gained recognition for his work on several television series, including “Life with Derek” (2006–2008), “True Jackson, VP” (2008–2011), and “The Tomorrow People” (2013–2014), where he held a lead role as Stephen Jameson. His involvement in “The Flash” (2014–2022) as Ronnie Raymond / Firestorm and later Deathstorm marked a significant recurring presence in a major superhero franchise. Amell has also ventured into film production, notably with the independently funded science fiction film “Code 8” (2019), which he starred in and executive produced alongside his cousin, Stephen Amell. This project successfully garnered over $2 million through an Indiegogo campaign, leading to a sequel, “Code 8: Part II” (2024), where he also served as a producer. More recently, he took on the lead role of Nathan Brown in the Prime Video series “Upload” (2020–2025).

Amell’s career milestones include lead roles in films such as “The DUFF” (2015) and “ARQ” (2016), as well as supporting roles in “Nine Lives” (2016) and “Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City” (2021). He has also appeared in popular Netflix films like “The Babysitter” (2017) and its sequel “The Babysitter: Killer Queen” (2020). His work on “The X-Files” (2016–2018) and “A Series of Unfortunate Events” (2018–2019) further showcases his adaptable acting range. In addition to acting, Amell has expanded into producing, with credits on films like “Float” (2023) and upcoming projects like “Send a Scare” and an untitled “Code 8” spinoff series.
