Róbert Kasza

Róbert Kasza was born on April 5, 1986, in Budapest, Hungary. His introduction to modern pentathlon was initially a practical choice for his parents, allowing him to join his brother in the same sport. This early exposure eventually developed into a passion and love for the discipline. Kasza’s primary influences include Balczó András, whom he respects for modesty, intelligence, and humility. He pursued higher education, earning an MSc in Recreation from Budapest Semmelweis University Faculty of Physical Education and Sport Sciences. Balancing his athletic career with academics, he also enjoys hiking and spending time with friends in his home country. His preferred disciplines within modern pentathlon are fencing and swimming.

Kasza’s career highlights include significant achievements across various international competitions. He earned a gold medal as part of the relay team at the 2011 World Modern Pentathlon Championships. He continued to demonstrate competitive performance, securing a silver medal at the 2012 Senior European Championships in Sofia, Bulgaria. In that same year, he competed in the XXX Olympic Games in London, placing 12th in the individual men’s event. His consistent presence on the international stage underscores his dedication to the sport. Further achievements include a gold medal at the 2008 World Cup Final in Caldas da Rainha, Portugal.

His impressive track record extends to various podium finishes, including a silver medal at the UIPM 2017 Pentathlon World Championships in Cairo, Egypt, and another silver at the European Senior Championships in Minsk, Belarus, both in 2017. He also clinched a bronze medal at the UIPM 2021 Pentathlon World Cup II in Sofia, Bulgaria. Kasza continued to represent Hungary at the highest level, including participation in the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, where he finished 26th in the individual men’s event. His career has been marked by consistent participation and strong performances in World Cups, European Championships, and Olympic Games, solidifying his status as a notable modern pentathlete.
