Ilia Frolov

Ilia Frolov established himself as a decorated modern pentathlete, achieving numerous podium finishes across World and European Championships. His competitive journey began with significant junior success, securing a 2nd Position in the Final at the Junior European Championships in 2003, and another 2nd Position in the Team-relay Men event at the Junior European Championship in the Czech Republic the same year. He continued his junior trajectory with a 2nd Position in the Final at the Junior European Championships in 2004, and a 2nd Position in the Final at the European junior championships in 2005, alongside a 3rd Position in the Final at the World Cup in Athens in 2005. Frolov debuted on the Olympic stage at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, where he competed in the men’s event, finishing in twentieth place.

Frolov added further accolades in 2015, achieving a 3rd Position in the Final at World Cup #1 in Sarasota and a 2nd Position in the Final at World Cup #4 in Kecskemét. His most recent major international achievements include a 2nd Position in the Team-relay Men at the UIPM 2016 Pentathlon World Championships in Moscow, and a 1st Position (Team) at the 2019 Military World Games in Wuhan, solidifying his legacy as a top-tier modern pentathlete.
