British actor Robert Kazinsky is known on both sides of the Atlantic for two very different roles: UK audiences will know him as Sean Slater from Eastenders, a role he has played on and off for over 15 years. American audiences will recognise him as Benn Flynn/Macklyn Warlow from the sixth season of HBO’s True Blood. He has also appeared as a guest judge on Syfy’s reality series Face Off and had a recurring role in Fox’s sci-fi crime drama Second Chance. His film credits include parts in Captain Marvel, Pacific Rim, and the Gray Man. He recently returned to England for a third stint as Sean Slater.
Kazinsky was born in the south of England in November 1983. He trained as an actor at the Guildford School of Acting. He is Jewish and fluent in Hebrew, and it is thanks to this that he got his first acting breaks appearing in commercials on Israeli television. His first appearance in a show came in 2005 in a revival of the classic Basil Brush Show on children’s television, but soon afterwards, he got his breakthrough role in 2006 when he was cast as part of the iconic Slater family in Eastenders, one of the UK’s most beloved soap operas. In the years since, he has played Slater in over 250 episodes during three separate stints. He has won several awards for the role, including the Best Actor Award from the 2009 British Soap Awards.
However, Kazinsky had his on success in the States, and in 2010, he made his debut there in an episode of Law & Order. He has also appeared in major films and enjoyed success with recurring roles in major series such as True Blood.
