Roberto Firmino Barbosa de Oliveira was born on October 2, 1991, in Maceió, Brazil. He began his youth football career at CRB in 2004, later joining Figueirense’s youth setup in 2008. His professional journey commenced in 2009 with Figueirense, where he made his debut in October of that year. During the 2010 season, he scored 8 goals in 36 appearances, contributing to Figueirense’s promotion to Série A. In December 2010, Firmino transferred to German club Hoffenheim, where he remained for four and a half seasons. His performance in the 2013-14 Bundesliga season, scoring 16 goals in 33 games, earned him the league’s Breakthrough Player award. His consistent development and goal-scoring ability drew significant attention from top European clubs.
In July 2015, Firmino made a high-profile move to Premier League club Liverpool for a reported £29 million. His tenure at Liverpool was marked by significant success, including winning the UEFA Champions League in the 2018-19 season and the Premier League title in the 2019-20 season. He also secured the UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup in 2019, followed by the FA Cup and EFL Cup in the 2021-22 season.
