Ron Livingston

Ronald Joseph Livingston was born on June 5, 1967, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He cultivated his interest in acting from a young age, starting with Theatre Cedar Rapids after a school job shadowing experience. Livingston pursued higher education at Yale University, where he earned a B.A. degree in Theatre Studies and English Literature. During his time at Yale, he was active in theater, gaining stage credits with the Williamstown Theatre Festival and Manhattan Class Company. After graduating in 1989, Livingston moved to Chicago and continued his stage career, performing in productions at the Goodman Theatre and other venues. His film career began with a debut in Dolly Parton’s “Straight Talk” (1992).

Moving to Los Angeles in 1993 marked a significant step in his career, leading to his breakthrough role as Rob in “Swingers” (1996), a film written by his friend Jon Favreau. This was followed by a leading role as Peter Gibbons in the cult hit “Office Space” (1999), where he starred opposite Jennifer Aniston. Livingston further cemented his presence in television with his performance as Captain Lewis Nixon III in the HBO miniseries “Band of Brothers” (2001), for which he received a Golden Globe nomination. He also gained widespread recognition for his role as Jack Berger, Carrie Bradshaw’s short-term boyfriend, in eight episodes of “Sex and the City” (2002-2003).

Throughout the 2000s and beyond, Livingston continued to take on diverse roles. His film credits include “Adaptation.” (2002), “The Cooler” (2003), and “The Conjuring” (2013). On television, he starred in the FOX series “Standoff” (2006-2007) as FBI senior negotiator Matt Flannery, and later in “Loudermilk” (2017-2020) as Sam Loudermilk. He also joined the cast of HBO’s “Boardwalk Empire” (2013) and appeared in the ABC drama “A Million Little Things” (2018-2023). Most recently, Livingston portrayed Henry Allen in “The Flash” (2023).
