The spiritual artist Ruslan Karaoglanov, who produces work under his Christian name Ruslan, is a gifted rapper, musician, content creator, and entrepreneur. He has released music as a solo artists, and was part of the Hip-Hop crew theBREAX, and the Hip-Hop group Dream Junkies. His latest album, Love What You Do, came out in 2021.
Born to Armenian parents in Baku, Azerbaijan, Ruslan emigrated with his family as a child to the United States in 1990 to escape religious persecution after an ethnic conflict broke out in the wake of tensions between the dissolving Soviet Union and the Azerbaijan government. Settling in San Diego, Ruslan became interested in Hip-Hop as a child, and by the time he was in his teens he was performing his own raps on-stage. He entered freestyle battles, and quickly established a strong reputation in the San Diego Hip-Hop community.
Ruslan released his first solo album, Out of Order, in 2004, and then formed his own Hip-Hop crew, theBREAX, soon after. They released their first album, Restocked 1.5, in 2009, and a second, Parting Gift, in 2011. Their third album, Never Arrive, also released in 2011, went to No.3 on the iTunes Hip-Hop charts. In 2014 he released his second solo album, Out Of It, followed by a third, Do for One, in 2015. Around the same time, he formed the Hip-Hop group Dream Junkies with fellow rappers Beleaf and John Givez. The group’s debut album, Good Religion, came out in 2016 and registered on Billboard’s R&B, rap, independent, and Heatseekers charts. He has gone on to release a further six solo albums, including 2021’s Love What You Do.
Ruslan regularly connects with his legions of followers and fans through Instagram, and Facebook, posting pictures and videos about his spiritual life around music. He also has a dedicated YouTube channel, Ruslan KD, and an official merchandise website, shop.kingsdreament.com.
