Rylee Arnold was born on June 5, 2005, in Provo, Utah. She commenced her dance training and competition in ballroom dance at a young age. Early in her career, at nine years old, she secured third place at the 2014 World DanceSport Championships in Paris. Continuing her competitive journey, she achieved fifth place at the 2019 WDC World Championships in Dublin. Her visibility increased significantly through her participation in television dance competitions. She graduated from Timpview High School in May 2023. Arnold gained recognition as a professional dancer on “Dancing with the Stars: Juniors,” a spin-off of the established celebrity talent show. In 2018, she partnered with actor Miles Brown and, under the mentorship of her sister, Lindsay Arnold, reached the finals, finishing as a runner-up. Following the cancellation of the junior series, she transitioned to the main “Dancing with the Stars” competition in 2023 for season 32. Her debut as a professional dancer on the main series marked her as the first pro from the junior version to do so. In season 32, she was partnered with media personality Harry Jowsey, reaching sixth place. For season 33, she partnered with Olympic artistic gymnast Stephen Nedoroscik, advancing to fourth place in the finals in November 2024. This achievement made Arnold the first “Dancing with the Stars” professional born in the 21st century to reach the finale. Her contemporary-based freestyle routine with Nedoroscik to Coldplay’s “Viva la Vida” received critical acclaim, with Rebecca Iannucci from TVLine naming it the best dance number of the year. For season 34, Arnold was paired with Scott Hoying of the a cappella group Pentatonix.
