Shailene Woodley

Shailene Woodley is an acclaimed actress and environmental activist, known for her compelling performances across film and television and her dedicated advocacy for sustainable practices. After earning a Golden Globe nomination for her critically acclaimed role opposite George Clooney in Alexander Payne’s ‘The Descendants’ in 2011, Shailene Woodley went on to win the Independent Spirit Award and MTV Movie Awards Breakthrough Performance Award in 2012 for her portrayal of Alexandra King. Woodley first made her screen debut in 1999 in ‘Replacing Dad’ and appeared in television series including ‘The District’ (2000), ‘Crossing Jordan’ (2001), and ‘The O.C.’ (2003). Her lead role as Amy Juergens in ‘The Secret Life of the American Teenager’ (2008–2013) brought her widespread recognition on television.

Woodley has continued to diversify her filmography with recent roles in ‘The Mauritanian’ (2021), ‘The Last Letter from Your Lover’ (2021), ‘To Catch a Killer’ (2023), and Michael Mann’s ‘Ferrari’ (2023). Beyond her extensive acting career, Woodley is a noted environmental activist, co-founding the nonprofit organization All it Takes and serving as a Greenpeace Oceans Ambassador, actively engaging in environmental causes such as protesting the Dakota Access Pipeline.
