Shailene Woodley was born on November 15, 1991, in Simi Valley, California. Her early career began at the age of four with commercial modeling, quickly transitioning into acting. She made her screen debut in 1999 in ‘Replacing Dad’ and subsequently appeared in television series such as ‘The District’ (2000), ‘Crossing Jordan’ (2001), and ‘The O.C.’ (2003). At 15, Woodley was diagnosed with Idiopathic Scoliosis, a condition that required her to wear a back brace for two years, which she managed while continuing her acting work. Her dedication to her craft was evident early on, as she maintained a 4.0 GPA and took AP classes, even while balancing her acting commitments. Before landing her breakout television role, she considered studying Interior Design at NYU and briefly worked at American Apparel, showcasing a grounded approach to her burgeoning career.
