Scot Ruggles

Scot Ruggles was born in Townsend, Massachusetts. For over two decades, he built a career spanning sports and education, serving as a teacher, administrator, and coach. His coaching career included positions at both high school and collegiate levels, extending to interactions with professional sports environments. Scot Ruggles coached football at Harvard University and later served as the Head Football Coach at Harvard-Westlake School for 10 years. He further contributed to college athletics as the Director of Football Relations at UCLA for four years.

In 2007, Scot Ruggles relocated to Los Angeles to pursue acting and producing. He secured recurring roles in television series such as “All American” (2019-2020), where he played Rick Wilson for three episodes, and “Bel-Air” (2022), appearing as Coach Denning for two episodes. His filmography also includes appearances in “S.W.A.T.” (2018) and “Deputy” (2020), and he is set to appear in “American Sports Story” (2024) playing Steve Addazio for three episodes, and “Countdown” (2025) as ADIC Jay Tostrud for two episodes. Under his production company, No Huddle Productions, he has served as a co-producer for “Spin the Bottle” (2024), a producer for “First Responders in Crisis” (2023), and an executive producer for “Headshots & Handcuffs” (2014).

Having established a varied career in both sports and entertainment, Scot Ruggles is now focusing on motivational speaking and further projects in entertainment. His speaking engagements often feature his trademarked slogan, ‘Win Your Mind, Win Your Freedom,’ drawing on his experiences from coaching, teaching, and his work in film and television. He regularly speaks at events, such as the Athletic Director Summit at Indian Hill High School in Cincinnati, Ohio, and has spoken at institutions like the Texas Department of Criminal Justice in March 2024.
