The double Olympic Gold medalist, and 9x World Champion Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce is an incredibly gifted track and field athlete, who competes in the 60 metres, the 100 metres, and the 200 metres. Widely regarded as one of the greatest sprinters of all time, she is also one of the most enduring track athletes in history having competed since the 2000s. She remains a dominant force in women’s sprinting, and has won more global 100m titles than any other sprinter in history. Born and raised in Jamaica, Fraser-Pryce was a gifted sprinter from a very young age and started competing while she was at school. She continued to hone her craft while at the University of Technology, Jamaica, taking part in various athletic events, including the World Championships. But it was when she attended her first Olympic Games in Beijing in 2008 that she rose to prominence, becoming the first Caribbean woman to win Gold in the 100m. She became the third woman in history to defend her Olympic title when she won the event again at the following Olympics at London 2012. She also became the first athlete to medal in the 100m at four consecutive Olympics after winning Bronze in Rio 2016 and Silver at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. She is also one of the most decorated athletes in history when it comes to the World Athletics Championships, having won ten Golds and four Silver medals since she started competing at the event in 2009.
