A top-ten finisher in the 3000-meter steeplechase at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio, Colleen Quigley is an American middle-distance runner. She finished 12th in the 3000-meter steeplechase event at the 2015 World Championships and is currently a member of Bowerman Track Club.
Born in St. Louis, Missouri, Colleen Quigley earned nine NCAA All-American honors while running for Florida State University. In 2014, she won the NCAA Women’s Cross County Championship, the ACC Outdoor Track Steeplechase, and the ACC Indoor Track Mile Run. She then traveled to Beijing, China in 2015 to participate in the 2015 World Championships, taking second place in the 300-meter steeplechase. In 2016, Quigley had a personal best time in the Olympic Trials and represented the United States at the 2016 Summer Olympics, finishing eighth in the 3000-meter steeplechase. Quigley has also seen success in the Diamond League events and the famous indoor Wanamaker Mile. In 2019, she placed seventh in the Diamond League event at the Prefontaine Class in Stanford, California. Quigley also finished runner-up in the Wanamaker Mile in 2019, recording one of the fastest finishes of all-time.
Currently based in Portland, Quigley works as a volunteer assistant coach for the Portland State cross country and track & field programs. She is a member of Bowerman Track Club, an Oregon-based collection of runners. Quigley previously pursued a modeling career but currently focuses full-time on running. A world-class steeplechase athlete, Colleen Quigley is an American Olympian with an impressive career.
