Sydney Mclaughlin

Two-time Olympic gold medalist Sydney McLaughlin is an American track and field athlete who specializes in the 400-meter hurdles. She is a U.S. record breaker in the event and is the 2017 World Champion. McLaughlin first caught the attention of the track and field world when she won the 400m hurdles at the 2015 World Championships in Beijing, becoming the youngest ever gold medalist in the event at age 17. She followed that up with a silver medal at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, making her one of the most decorated athletes in her age group.

McLaughlin’s success continued into 2017, as she won gold at the World Championships in London and set a new U.S. record in the 400m hurdles with a time of 52.75 seconds. McLaughlin’s accomplishments have earned her widespread recognition and praise from both the sporting world and beyond. McLaughlin is signed to Nike and has endorsement deals with major brands such as Gatorade, Procter & Gamble, and Goldman Sachs. She received an estimated $1.5 million in base compensation annually from New Balance following a bidding war. McLaughlin signed a contract with William Morris Endeavor, a company that normally represents Hollywood stars, rather than choosing an agent that specialises in representing athletes.
