Sonja Morgan

Sonja Tremont was born on November 25, 1963, in Averill Park, New York. She pursued studies in marketing at the Fashion Institute of Technology. Before her reality television career, Morgan was active in various high-end Manhattan establishments during the 1980s and 1990s, working as an interior director, event planner, and hostess. These early experiences provided a foundation for her later endeavors in business and entertainment.

Morgan gained widespread recognition in 2010 when she joined the cast of Bravo’s “The Real Housewives of New York City” for its third season, remaining a prominent figure on the show for eleven seasons until 2021. Her presence on the series led to her being voted “Best Comedienne” in the ‘Real Housewives Awards’ for four consecutive years, from 2015 to 2018. In 2015, she launched her fashion line, Sonja by Sonja Morgan, which was sold at the Vanessa Noel store and online, and later retailed in Century 21 stores until their 2020 bankruptcy. Her career diversified further when she made her off-Broadway debut in 2017 in the play “Sex Tips for Straight Women by a Gay Man.”

Continuing her career progression, Morgan embarked on a regional tour of improv shows titled “Sonja In Your City” in 2021, performing to sold-out audiences in various cities. She is a frequent guest on “Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen” and has appeared on other television series such as “Difficult People,” “Kocktails with Khloé,” and “Worst Cooks in America.” In 2023, she co-starred in the spin-off series “Luann & Sonja: Welcome to Crappie Lake” and also appeared in the fourth season of “The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip.” Throughout her public life, Morgan has maintained philanthropic efforts, supporting various charities including those for children, arts, animal rights, and LGBTQ+ rights, for which she received a New York State Senate Award in 2013.
