Stefan Gates is a British television presenter, author, and live-show performer known for his engaging food and science-themed content. After spending 16 years honing his skills in film and television as an assistant director, scriptwriter, director, and producer, including a significant tenure as development producer for BBC Comedy, Stefan Gates transitioned his expertise into presenting and co-writing the BBC Two series ‘Full on Food’ in 2004. A graduate of Pembroke College, Oxford, where he earned a degree in English, Gates’s diverse professional background also includes early appearances in television dramas such as Poldark and Supernatural, and notably, being featured on the iconic cover of Led Zeppelins 1973 album Houses of the Holy. Building on the success of ‘Full on Food,’ Gates went on to develop and present over 20 television series primarily for the BBC, establishing himself as a leading voice in food and science communication.
In 2024, he launched the highly successful theatre show ‘Rude Science Live!’, a touring production across the UK that combines humor with engaging science demonstrations for family audiences.
