Steven Grillo

Steven Grillo developed his early career in media during the 1990s, beginning his association with The Howard Stern Show in September 1991. Initially joining as an associate producer, he was tasked with managing celebrity guests, producing and writing comedy sketches, and screening phone lines for on-air segments. During this period, he also served as an assistant to Robin Quivers and Howard Stern. From October 1991 to February 1998, Grillo also functioned as a radio personality, participating in on-air talent segments for The Howard Stern Show, where he became known for his distinct Brooklyn accent and was given the nickname “Gorilla.” His tenure at the show, which concluded in February 1999, provided him with significant exposure and an understanding of live broadcasting and content creation.

Following his time at The Howard Stern Show, Steven Grillo transitioned into roles focused on promotions and production. In February 2012, he became a Promotions Director for The Production Plant, a post-production house in TriBeCa, where he was responsible for organizing networking events, publicity, and client relations. Concurrently, he also took on the role of Promotions Director for Briteshot, a lighting company, promoting their products. Since November 2018, Grillo has been the Host and Executive Producer for Grillos Aftershockxl, an internet show available on YouTube. In this role, he conducts interviews with celebrities and former colleagues, building on his previous media experiences.

Grillo’s career also includes acting work and a recent foray into authorship. He is known for his consistent Brooklyn accent, which has been a recognizable trademark throughout his public career. His experiences range from being an intern who saved Howard Stern from a potentially dangerous situation in 1995 to working as a grip for Broadway shows and television productions after leaving the radio show. He also served as a stand-in for Robert Iler on “The Sopranos.” In March 2025, Grillo is set to release his memoir, “Gorilla Parts,” which recounts his experiences on The Howard Stern Show.
