Teresa Giudice was born Teresa Gorga on May 18, 1972, in Paterson, New Jersey, to Italian immigrant parents, Giacinto and Antonia Campiglia Gorga. Raised in the Roman Catholic faith alongside her younger brother, Giuseppe “Joe” Gorga, she studied fashion marketing at Berkeley College in New Jersey before working as an associate buyer for Macy’s. Her public career began in 2009 as a cast member on “The Real Housewives of New Jersey,” a show she has been part of since its first season. Her presence on the program led to notable moments, including the widely discussed “table flip” incident in 2009. Giudice’s career expanded beyond reality television through her authorship of several successful cookbooks and a memoir.
Following her rise to prominence on television, Giudice authored “Skinny Italian” (2010), “Fabulicious” (2011), and “Fabulicious!: Fast & Fit” (2012), all of which became New York Times Best Sellers. In 2012, she participated in “The Celebrity Apprentice 5,” raising $70,000 for The NephCure Foundation. Further diversifying her ventures, Giudice launched Fabellini, a line of bellini cocktails, and Milania, a haircare line named after her daughter. Her memoir, “Turning the Tables: From Housewife to Inmate and Back Again” (2016), detailed her experiences with legal troubles and subsequent incarceration, also achieving New York Times Best Seller status. She released her sixth book, “Standing Strong,” in 2017. Her commitment to fitness led her to become a competitive bodybuilder after her prison release in 2015.
Giudice continued her television appearances, including “The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip” in 2021 and “Dancing with the Stars” season 31 in 2022, where she finished in 15th place. She also appeared in the VH1 film “Fuhgeddabout Christmas” (2022) and was announced as a contestant on “House of Villains” in 2024.
