Teryl Rothery

Teryl Rothery, a Vancouver native born on November 9, 1962, embarked on her entertainment journey at a young age, beginning dance lessons at nine and performing in her first musical, “Bye Bye Birdie,” at thirteen. Her early theatrical work also included a role in “Annie Get Your Gun,” which earned her a Most Outstanding Performer award. At 18, she made her television debut in a Canadian Broadcasting Corporation Halloween special, and from ages 19 to 27, she worked in radio for stations such as CJAZ-FM, KISS-FM, and CKWX, further honing her performance skills.

Rothery transitioned into a prolific career in television and film, with her role as Dr. Janet Fraiser in the hit series “Stargate SG-1” (1997-2006) becoming a defining achievement, appearing in 75 episodes. Her television work also includes significant roles in “Cedar Cove” (2013-2015) as Grace Sherman, “Virgin River” (2019-present) as Muriel St. Claire, and “The Good Doctor” (2017-2024) as Dr. Jen Lancaster in 24 episodes. She has been involved in numerous television movies, including “Deceived by Trust” (1995) and various Hallmark productions. Her film credits include “Andre” (1994) and “Masterminds” (1997) with Patrick Stewart, in addition to extensive voice acting roles in animated series and films.

Throughout her career, Rothery has demonstrated a broad range of acting capabilities across different genres and platforms. Her talent has been recognized with multiple nominations, including a Jessie Richardson Theatre Award (2006-2007) for “A Delicate Balance” and Leo Awards for “Coffee Diva” (2008) and “The Guard” (2009).
