Randy and Jason Sklar, born January 12, 1972, in St. Louis, Missouri, developed their comedic style in New York stand-up clubs after attending the University of Michigan. Their television career began in 1997, writing for and starring in MTV’s “Apt 2F.” They are widely recognized for hosting “Cheap Seats” on ESPN Classic for four seasons (2004-2006). This show featured them as ESPN research assistants commenting on notable sporting events, a format that earned praise from the creators of “Mystery Science Theater 3000.” Their collaborative work spans acting, writing, and hosting, consistently incorporating their unique twin dynamic into their comedic output.
Throughout their careers, The Sklar Brothers have appeared in numerous television shows and films. Notable acting credits include “CSI,” “Comedy Bang! Bang!,” “Mighty Med,” “Childrens Hospital,” “Law & Order,” “Becker,” “Providence,” and “The Oblongs.” They also had roles in films such as “My Baby’s Daddy,” “Bubble Boy,” “Wild Hogs,” and “The Comebacks.” Their presence extends to major networks, with guest appearances on “Grey’s Anatomy,” “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” and “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.” Additionally, they were pit reporters for Comedy Central’s “Battlebots” and have made multiple appearances on “Chelsea Lately” and “@midnight.”
