After earning a bronze medal in the 15 km skiathlon at the Norwegian Championships in Meråker in 2007, Therese Johaug quickly established herself on the international cross-country skiing stage. Her early career saw rapid ascent, becoming the youngest medalist at a Nordic World Championship in 2009 by securing a bronze in the 30 km in Sapporo. Johaug continued her impressive trajectory, winning a gold medal in the 4 × 5 km relay at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver.
