An award-winning comedian, presenter, author, explorer and world-record holder, Tim FitzHigham is well-known for a number of his challenges including paddling a paper boat along a 160 mile stretch of the River Thames and rowing a bathtub across the English Channel, both in aid of Comic Relief.
Having begun his comedy career back in 1999, FtizHigham performed at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival with his show Infinite Number of Monkeys – Sketch Comedy of Hypotheticals that went on to see him nominated for a Perrier Comedy Award. FitzHigham also won the Spirit of the Fringe Award in 2000. For his live comedy shows, FitzHigam has gone on to be named critics’ choice by a number of publications including The Guardian and The Daily Telegraph. A frequent presenter FitzHigham has appeared on BBC Radio 4 in his show The Gambler and the Super Human Challenge for CBBC. Of his film appearances, FitzHigham starred in the much-loved Paddington 2 and the fantasy disaster Hereafter alongside Matt Damon.
With several world records under his belt, some of FitzHigham’s notable achievements include the world’s largest man-inflated balloon and the world’s longest washing line, hung up in Trafalgar Square to raise awareness for UN World Environment Day in 2006. A Fellow of the Royal Society of At and the Royal Geographical Society, FitzHigham is also recognised as a Freeman of the Company of Watermen and Lightermen of the River Thames and a Freeman of the City of London. He is also the Most Puissant Knight de Santa Maria, Commodore of Sudbury Quay and Pittancer of Selby.
