Tim Hooper

Born on December 11, 1967, in Nacogdoches, Texas, Tim Hooper showed an early interest in the arts, participating in church and school musicals. His path diverged when he joined the U.S. Army, serving as a demolitions expert and touring globally. Upon returning from his military service, Hooper transitioned into the fire service, becoming a Fireman/EMT. His dedication led to his election as Fire Chief for his small hometown department. During his tenure as fire chief, he rekindled his artistic pursuits by singing bass with Southern Gospel groups “Southern Spirit” and the “Calvary Boys Trio,” in addition to performing with the Lamplite Theater Company in Nacogdoches, Texas.

Hooper eventually retired from his position as fire chief to pursue an acting career in Los Angeles. This career shift led to roles in various productions. Notable film work includes “Just Mercy” (2019), where he played Charles Cooper, Office Manager, and appearances in the “BearCity” film series, portraying Jay in “BearCity 3” (2016) and “BearCity 2: The Proposal” (2012). His television credits include a recurring role as Frank Coley in the series “Where the Bears Are” (2013-2018) for 35 episodes and a brief appearance as an uncredited diner patron in “2 Broke Girls” (2015). Hooper’s acting credits span over 16 productions, demonstrating a sustained commitment to his chosen profession.

His resume also features roles in several short films, such as “Cock N’ Bull 2” (2017) and “A Good Man Is Hard to Be” (2018), and commercials for brands like Kia and LA Metro. These opportunities have allowed him to apply his diverse life experiences to his on-screen and stage presence. Hooper remains an active member of SAG-AFTRA, continuing to seek new roles in the entertainment industry.
