Tom Proctor

Tom Proctor was born on November 14, 1955, in Salt Lake City, Utah, and raised in the Oquirrh Mountains. His early life involved activities such as riding horses, breaking wild mustangs, driving cattle, and training wild animals. He pursued careers as a sponsored motorcycle racer and a world champion MMA fighter. Proctor also worked globally in executive protection as a bodyguard. His ambition to enter filmmaking led him to acquire skills in various production roles, including grip, gaffer, camera operator, second unit director, director of photography, producer, and director. This broad experience provided a practical foundation for his transition into acting.

Throughout his career, Proctor has appeared in a variety of films and television series. Notable acting credits include his portrayal of Horuz in “Guardians of the Galaxy” (2014) and the role of Biddee in “12 Years a Slave” (2013). He also played Cantina Bad Man in “The Ballad of Buster Scruggs” (2018) and had roles in “Lawless” (2012) and “Django Unchained” (2012). In television, he has appeared in “Justified” and “Touched by an Angel.” Beyond acting, Proctor has contributed significantly as a stunt performer and stunt coordinator, with credits such as “Looper” (2012), “Escape Plan” (2013), and “Django Unchained” (2012). His physical capabilities and commitment to training in various acting techniques, including Meisner, improvisation, and comedy, have been central to his work.

In addition to his film and television work, Tom Proctor has pursued a music career. In June 2018, he released his debut country album, “Working Man,” with his band, Tom Proctor and the A-Listers. He was recognized with the Best Actor in a Short Film award at the 2014 Northeast Film Festival for his work in “Sins” (2013).
