Tom Proctor was born on November 14, 1955, in Salt Lake City, Utah, and raised in the Oquirrh Mountains. His early life involved activities such as riding horses, breaking wild mustangs, driving cattle, and training wild animals. He pursued careers as a sponsored motorcycle racer and a world champion MMA fighter. Proctor also worked globally in executive protection as a bodyguard. His ambition to enter filmmaking led him to acquire skills in various production roles, including grip, gaffer, camera operator, second unit director, director of photography, producer, and director.
