Urijah Faber, known as “The California Kid,” has had a distinguished career as a mixed martial artist, transitioning from a dominant featherweight champion in World Extreme Cagefighting to a significant bantamweight contender in the Ultimate Fighting Championship. After securing championship titles in both Gladiator Challenge and King of the Cage by 2004, Urijah Faber quickly established himself as a dominant force in mixed martial arts. His professional MMA career commenced in 2003 with Gladiator Challenge, swiftly earning him the GC Bantamweight Championship and the King of the Cage Bantamweight Championship within a year. He further honed his versatile skill set by earning a brown belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu under Fábio ‘Pateta’ Prado, a foundational element of his fighting repertoire.
