The super stylish Mara José Torres, known as ‘Uti’ in both her professional and personal circles, is a renowned businesswoman, influencer and model from Ecuador. For a year, she studied Fashion Merchandising (or fashion marketing) in Milan, Italy, before concluding her education at the Art Institute of Miami. She began her career as an intern and then as a volunteer at various fashion events. That period of learning led her to work with a fashion producer who collaborated with some of the industry’s most recognised designers, including Oscar de la Renta, Carolina Herrera, Roberto Cavalli, and Stella McCartney, among others. Torres described this as “one of the best experiences of my life.” Torres has nearly 50,000 Instagram followers.

Torries has since partnered with the Ibiza Passion company. She wanted to create and express a message with 22 pieces of jewellery, which included earrings, bracelets, and necklaces. The message was that allowing yourself to be vulnerable, strong, or whatever else you choose can lead to self-discovery. In 2020, Torres created the Spotify podcast ‘El podcast de mi vida’ (The Podcast of My Life), in which she has dicussed, among other topics, her ectopic pregnancy which led to the tragic loss of her baby. She has shared how she spent the proceding couple of years getting to know herself, learning acceptance and letting go of her negative emotions.
