Valorie Darling

Valorie Darling, born in San Francisco and raised in Spokane, Washington, currently resides in Marina Del Rey, Los Angeles. She began her photography career with a background in dance, which provided her with an understanding of movement and flattering angles. This foundation allowed her to direct clients effectively while creating a comfortable and authentic shooting environment. Her photography style is characterized by its light, bright, airy, and dreamy aesthetic, often using film quality editing with softer, cooler tones. Valorie aims to tell authentic stories through her visuals, making her subjects feel at ease and enabling them to express themselves naturally during shoots.

In 2009, Valorie co-founded Camp SoCal HeARTs, an arts-based summer camp for foster children and at-risk youth in Los Angeles. This non-profit organization, co-founded with Carlee Avers, allowed her to give back to the community and provided an early platform for her photography skills, as she often documented the events. Her commitment to social activism and documenting uplifting stories influenced her professional path, leading her to specialize in capturing meaningful and beautiful moments. Valorie has experience across various photography genres, including styled shoots, blogs, and events, but found her niche in wedding photography, a specialty she initially pursued at the encouragement of Carlee Avers.

Valorie has established herself as a celebrated wedding photographer, known for developing strong relationships with her clients and their families. Her work has been featured in publications such as People, Us Weekly, Elle, and Martha Stewart, and she has photographed celebrity clients from the Bachelor franchise, including Ben Higgins and Lauren Bushnell. She also contributes her photography skills to Kin, a sustainable travel company co-owned by her partner Brian, and collaborates with The Little Market, co-founded by Hannah Skvarla and Lauren Conrad, which supports women artisans globally. Her extensive experience includes shooting in over 30 countries for destination weddings, solidifying her reputation in the luxury wedding and editorial photography sectors.
