In 2009, Valorie Darling co-founded Camp SoCal HeARTs, an arts-based summer camp for foster children and at-risk youth in Los Angeles. This non-profit organization, established with Carlee Avers, allowed Valorie to give back to the community and served as an early platform for her photography skills, documenting numerous events. Her background in dance provided a foundational understanding of movement and flattering angles, enabling her to direct clients effectively and create comfortable, authentic shooting environments. This blend of artistry and social commitment soon led her to specialize in capturing meaningful and beautiful moments, characterized by a light, bright, airy, and dreamy aesthetic with film quality editing.
She collaborates with Kin, a sustainable travel company co-owned by her partner Brian, documenting their initiatives. Additionally, she partners with The Little Market, co-founded by Hannah Skvarla and Lauren Conrad, a mission-driven organization that supports women artisans globally. Through these collaborations and her distinctive visual storytelling, Valorie continues to capture moments that resonate with warmth, authenticity, and a commitment to uplifting narratives.
