Victoria Rowell

Victoria Rowell’s career significantly advanced in 1990 when she joined the cast of ‘The Young and the Restless’ as Drucilla Barber Winters, a role that earned her three Daytime Emmy Award nominations and 11 NAACP Image Awards. She maintained this role from 1990 to 1998, returning periodically until 2007. Her early acting credits included a film debut in ‘Leonard Part 6’ (1987), a recurring role on ‘The Cosby Show,’ and an appearance in ‘As the World Turns’ as Nella Franklin (1988). An ardent advocate for foster children, Rowell founded the Rowell Foster Children’s Fine Arts Scholarship Fund and was recognized by 193 members of Congress for her advocacy efforts. She received an honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters from the University of Southern Maine in 2006 and was the first recipient of the Gift of Adoption Celebration of Adoption Award in 2008. Victoria Rowell expanded her directorial portfolio, making her feature directorial debut with ‘Everything Is Fine’ in 2020.

She subsequently directed ‘A Rich Christmas’ for BET+ in 2021, followed by several projects in 2022, including ‘Stranger Next Door’ for Lifetime, ‘Montross: Blood Rules’ for TV One, ‘Catfish Christmas,’ and ‘Blackjack Christmas’ for BET+. In 2022, she also held a recurring role in the CBS medical drama ‘Good Sam’ and most recently co-starred in ‘Summer Camp’ in 2024.
