Vince Gilligan

Vince Gilligan is an American writer, producer, and director, recognized for his contributions to critically acclaimed television series and films. After receiving the Virginia Governor’s Screenwriting Award for his screenplay ‘Home Fries’ in 1989, Vince Gilligan went on to graduate with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in film production from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, where his imaginative writing was acknowledged by film producer Mark Johnson. Gilligan’s career progressed significantly when he joined the critically acclaimed Fox television drama The X-Files as a staff writer in 1995. During his tenure, he contributed to 29 episodes and served in various producing capacities across 191 episodes between 1996 and 2002, including co-executive producer, executive producer, co-producer, and supervising producer.

Currently, Gilligan continues his prolific partnership with Sony Pictures Television through a long-standing overall deal, most recently renewed for an additional four years. His highly anticipated next project, Pluribus, a science fiction drama described as being in the vein of The X-Files and The Twilight Zone, is slated to premiere on Apple TV+ in November 2025. This upcoming series underscores his continued innovation in television and his enduring influence on the genre landscape.
