Vladimir Furdik

Born on July 1, 1970, in Bratislava, Czechoslovakia (now Slovakia), Vladimir ‘Furdo’ Furdik initiated his career in the 1970s as a member of theater groups in Czechoslovakia. His early involvement with groups like Tostabur Espadrones, which focused on traditional fighting skills and weaponry, provided foundational training crucial for his later professional trajectory. He also collaborated with the Borseus group, under the guidance of Slovakian stunt performer Gustáv Kyselica. Furdik’s dedication to mastering fighting techniques and stunt work solidified his path in the entertainment industry.

Furdik transitioned into Hollywood in the 1990s as a stuntman, beginning with projects such as the horror film ‘Tremors’ (1990) and ‘The Three Musketeers’ (1993). His career consistently progressed, encompassing roles as a stunt performer, stunt coordinator, fight choreographer, and sword master across numerous major films and television series. Notable stunt credits include ‘Dragonheart’ (1996), ‘Kingdom of Heaven’ (2005), ‘The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor’ (2008), ‘Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows’ (2011), ‘Skyfall’ (2012), ‘Thor: The Dark World’ (2013), and ‘The Last Duel’ (2021). These roles established his reputation as a highly sought-after professional in the stunt community, contributing to a wide array of action sequences.

Beyond his extensive stunt work, Furdik also developed his acting career throughout the 2000s. He gained significant recognition for portraying the Night King in HBO’s ‘Game of Thrones’ from 2016 to 2019, a role that required substantial time in makeup and contributed to the series’ critical success. His acting portfolio also includes parts in ‘La Femme Musketeer’ (2004), ‘Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time’ (2010) as Hassansin Grenade Man, and ‘Prometheus’ (2012) as Mercenary 2. His dual capacity as a skilled stuntman and an actor has made him a versatile and integral part of many cinematic achievements.
